2017 September Parent Guide

Message from Academic Vice Principal

Students who elect a course and find that the course is not meeting their needs may request a schedule change before the end of the second week of the semester, September 12th. Courses may be added through the second week of a semester as available. Students are encouraged to initiate the process by meeting with their counselors in the Counseling Department.

Back to School night is scheduled for September 14th, beginning at 6:50 p.m.  Parents are encouraged to attend and "walk" the typical day of their student.  This is a great opportunity to meet teachers and to learn more about the classes your students are taking.  Schedules are available.

Additionally, on September 14th, new parents are encouraged to attend the New Parent Meeting at 6:15 p.m.  This is a good opportunity to learn more about the school, including important information regarding attendance and school policies and procedures.

Chaperones Needed for Sr. Pilgrimage

We are currently looking for parent volunteers to assist with the Senior Pilgrimage retreat. Parents are asked to get involved in one of two ways: They can hike or provide overnight supervision.
The hiking group is comprised of those adults who simply want to be present with the students and go with them on this journey. They will either ride the bus with us or meet us at the campground before 9 am.

Nighttime supervision is comprised of those adults who want to come down later in the day and ensure our students are safe and get a good nights sleep. They will have dinner with us and report directly to the nighttime supervisor, our Facilities director, Kevin. The bulk of that job will take place between 10pm and 1am or so.
We do not recommend adults do both, as it makes for a long and exhausting Saturday. The trip is Saturday, September 16 and will be concluded the following evening.

If you have any questions please contact Josh Barnes.
