Class of 2021 Graduation

Hello Seniors and Families,
Happy second semester of senior year. With the semester in full swing, it’s time to start planning for graduation. This is an exciting time and despite our current climate we hope to make this occasion as memorable as possible. As we continue to determine what traditional graduation activities will take place, here’s what I can confirm for now.
Commencement will be held on Sunday, June 6th, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Bellarmine Preparatory High School on Memorial Field. In the event that Graduation is postponed or changed, updated information will be available on the school’s website and sent to you directly. Currently we are planning for two options, how we proceed will be based on state guidelines as we get closer to the date.
Options 1: A traditional in-person ceremony on the field with all seniors and limited guests in the stands. We will ensure that all state guidelines are followed, and social distancing practices will be strictly enforced. Commencement will conclude at approximately 1:00 p.m.
Option 2: A limited capacity in-person event, in which students will have the opportunity to walk the graduation stage and take a photo. In this option they will arrive according to their Ignatian Formation Period. All programming (speeches and awards) will be prerecorded and presented in a graduation video to be viewed at a later date. This option is similar to last year’s graduation.
No tickets are required for graduation, but capacity will be limited in both options. We will update you on seating capacity/limits in a future email. Additional information regarding arrival times and parking will also be announced. Families who need reserved seating for guests in wheelchairs should contact Tawanna Wilson in the Counseling Office by May 29th.
Stole/Neckwear Policy:
Only approved stoles and neckwear are permitted during commencement. The Valedictorian and Salutatorian will receive stoles and medallions, and Honors students (3.5+ at end of 7th semester) will receive honor cords. Students involved in academic programs throughout four years are approved for stoles if they choose. That is arranged and purchased through the advisors of their individual programs.
Grad Images is the official photographer for our Commencement and will be onsite for both options. Proofs will be sent to your home and via email within three to five days after graduation. Pictures can be ordered online, by phone, or by mail.
Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding as we continue to coordinate this event. We will keep you updated as we move forward. If you have specific questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Wilson directly at
