Letter from the President

The replacement of our current student center (pictured above) is the next essential step in the ongoing transformation of our campus into a true 21st century learning environment. This case for support outlines an evolutionary step forward – the Connelly Campus Center dedicated to St. Joan of Arc.

A transformative and exciting building, the Connelly Center will serve our students with consolidated, modernized delivery of student services, provide our community with a dedicated gathering space, and support our educational mission as a focal point for the development of student leadership.

In its commitment to strengthening community and to the care and development of young men and women who will be the leaders of our future, this project also reflects our underlying commitment to the foundational truths of our Catholic faith, and the fundamental values and methods of Jesuit education. These have proven themselves time and again across centuries of change and remain core to the Bellarmine mission today and for the future.

Over the last year, I and a team of extraordinary staff and committed volunteer leaders have spent much time with so many wonderful members of our Bellarmine family, sharing this vision and seeking their help. In particular, our campaign received a tremendous boost through the cornerstone commitment of Jack and Angela Connelly, whose keystone gift to the project laid a solid foundation for the continuing success of our campaign to date.

Thanks to their profound and humbling generosity, as well as that of so many other great supporters of the school, I am thrilled to announce that in just over a year, we have already raised $5.5 million in gifts and commitments toward our overall goal of $8.5 million.

We also recognize that it will take the support and generosity of the whole community to make this Center a reality for our students and their families. As we continue to strive toward our final goal, we are counting on each and every member of our community to consider what they can do in support of this project.

The Connelly Campus Center will be a building that will touch the lives of every student, alumni and family who experiences Bellarmine in the decades to come. I encourage you to review the content of this case and prayerfully consider what you can do to be part of making possible this great step forward for the institution we all love so well.

Thank you for taking the time to consider supporting this important project. May God bless you and may He continue to bless the work of Bellarmine.
