  • Teachers regularly qualify for national and local honors. Recent examples include Washington Federation of Independent Schools Outstanding Program Director (Marine Chemistry) and Outstanding Administrators (Principal and Athletic Director, a National Endowment for the Arts and Humanities research project and a Gates Foundation Teacher Leadership Award.
 

Development/Financial Aid

  • Bellarmine's endowment fund, which provides ongoing financial aid, is over $18 million
  • Financial aid for students, funded mainly by endowment, has grown to over $2.1 million per year
  • Thirty-one percent of Bellarmine students receive some sort of financial aid
 

Athletics

  • Bellarmine fields 43 athletic teams in 18 different sports and has a staff of 58 coaches
  • 70% of the student body participates in the athletic program, which is widely regarded as one of the most competitive in the state
  • In 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 & 2010,  Bellarmine was named the All Sport State Champions
  • The Lions captured three state athletic titles in 2008 (boys soccer, boys tennis, girls track), one state title in 2009 (girls track & field), and two state titles in 2010 (boys and girls golf)

Activities

  • Recent music awards include National Music Ensemble, All Northwest and All State Choir members, All State Orchestra and All State Concert
  • In Bellarmine's 2011 production of Pippin, an actress earned Outstanding Performance and its program design earned top honors
  • Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Bellarmine's 2009 spring musical, was nominated for nine 5th Avenue Musical Theater Awards
  • Les Miserables, Bellarmine's 2008 spring musical, was nominated for six 5th Avenue Musical Theater Awards
  • Urinetown, Bellarmine's 2007 spring musical, won the Outstanding Overall Musical Award from the 5th Avenue Theater
  • 95% of Bellarmine students has taken at least one community service course by the time they graduate
  • Over 25,000 hours of volunteer service are contributed annually by students to the community
  • Students annually collect between 8,000-10,000 pounds of food for the St. Leo's Food Connection
  • Since 1991, Bellarmine has provided food and gifts for about 70 families a year through the Adopt-A-Family program that serves those who do not have resources to celebrate Christmas
  • Approximately 90% of the student body participates annually in at least one of Bellarmine's religious retreats sponsored by Campus Ministry
  • Bellarmine's goal is to have 100% of its studnets actively involved in one or more of its 40 school-sponsored clubs.
