Bellarmine Sponsors Annual Adopt-A-Family Project

Since 1991, Bellarmine has provided Christmas for families in need. This year, 50 families have been adopted. Through the Adopt-A-Family program, volunteers provide Christmas day meals, a "stocked cupboard," and Christmas gifts for the families. The theme is to celebrate with others, not for them, therefore living out the Jesuit mission and honoring everyone's invisible talents and challenges.

When Does It Happen?

Community Period classes will receive the names of their families on Monday, November 30.

Adopt-A-Family Delivery

The Adopt-A-Family delivery of food and gifts will happen on December 16 between 9:30-11:00 a.m.

Who Do We Help?

Families in Need: Families in need are identified by counselors in some of the schools and agencies where we volunteer in the Community Service Department as well as from Catholic Community Services.

Who Has Helped?

Thanks to students, teachers, parent volunteers, and Philomathea for making Christmas dreams come true. What we have accomplished as a school collectively models the true meaning of the word generosity.

Top Five Ways to Assist Adopt-A-Family

1. Call your child's Community Period advisor and offer to help.

2. Deliver on December 16 during Community Period (approx. 9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.). Extra vans, trucks, cars are appreciated.

3. Donations of food: supplies for a full cupboard, pans for cooking (some families have only one).

4. Wrap presents, donate wrapping paper, bows, etc.

5. Pray for the families and encourage Bellarmine students in this project.
