Bellarmine is a Catholic college preparatory school in the Jesuit tradition. Its mission is to proclaim the Gospel message within an educational community and to graduate students who are leaders in action, modeled on Christ, and committed to the transformation He envisions for the world.
Long Form
- Bellarmine is a Catholic school in the Jesuit tradition. Its Mission is to teach students of all faiths as Jesus did, by proclaiming His message within a community with the purpose of translating those values into action.
- To this end, Bellarmine provides rigorous programs of excellence that develop and harmonize the intellectual, the spiritual, the emotional and the physical. The ultimate aim is to produce graduates who will be leaders in action, modeled on Christ, fearless in pursuing a Christian transformation of our world.
- By maintaining fiscal responsibility and by calling on the generosity of Bellarmine and the broader community, Bellarmine makes quality education available to all with preferential regard for the poor. Tuition, scholarships and salaries are responsive to the call of charity and justice.
- In summary, Bellarmine believes that the future of humanity lies in the hands of those who are strong enough to provide coming generations with reasons, methods and resources for living and hoping.
Bellarmine's Mission Statement was reviewed and adopted by the Board of Directors in February, 1990. This Mission Statement provides the philosophy and basis for the plan's goals and recommendations. It is based on a more detailed statement of philosophy adopted in 1981.
