Information Services Update

We are excited to have your sons and daughters back at Bellarmine. During the first Community Period, advisors distributed information to their students about how to access information services at Bellarmine. Included is also information needed to use our Parental Access Support System (PASS). This system allows students and their parents access to attendance and grading information using the Internet. Please encourage your son and daughter to share this important information with you.

Parking Updates & Drop Off/Pick Up Procedures

The new Booster Gym construction has brought some challenges to our campus--specifically parking. The construction site took over a portion of the west parking lot, limiting parking to employees and students which has forced us to make some changes in our drop off/pick up and parking process. Fall Fundraiser/Entertainment Book Sale Underway

Stewardship is a central component of the Jesuit tradition and hence, Bellarmine's mission. For decades, student fundraisers have helped teach Bellarmine students the meaning of stewardship. Each year students participate in two fundraisers, an Entertainment Book Sale and the Community Caring Campaign. These fundraisers provide approximately $250,000 toward Bellarmine's operating expenses. The sale is underway in which each student is required to see three Entertainment Books. The Tacoma, Seattle and North Puget Sound books are priced at just $25 each. Remember that the $90 Buy-Out Deadline is Sept. 10. Find out more here.

Textbooks for Summer Reading and Fall

Textbooks for Summer Reading and for the fall are now available through Follett Virtual Bookstore (formerly Varsity Books.) If you buy before Aug. 27, ground shipping is free.

Summer Reading Lists Available

The Bellarmine English Department requests that during the summer months our students stay active as readers. In light of this, we request that students read each summer. Students, upon their return to school, will be given an exam that will allow them to express their understanding of the summer reading. Click here for the Summer Reading List, plus information about sophomore and freshmen writing assignments for summer reading.

Chaperones Needed for September Senior Pilgrimage

We need about 20 parent chaperones for the time after the campfire at the Senior Pilgrimage on September 18-19 at Beacon Rock State Park. Parents are needed to help get the seniors to bed (no later than 12:00 midnight) and help monitor the seniors in their tents until about 1:00 AM. We can't do it without parent volunteers. Our parent volunteers also have several options for their sleeping arrangements. If you are willing to help, have questions or need more information, please email (fishj@bellarmineprep.org) or call (752-7701, ex. 842) Thanks in advance -- we really need parent volunteers to support this senior retreat. Typically, about 175 seniors attend.

Parents and Grandparents: Seeking Volunteers in Kitchen

Bellarmine's Kitchen Staff invites parents, grandparents and friends to get involved at Bellarmine by volunteering in the kitchen/cafeteria. This provides a great way to integrate parents into the Bellarmine community and gives them an opportunity to interact with students, teachers, staff, administrators and other parents. Volunteer yourself or get a group of your friends and sign up. Find out more here in a letter from Food Services Manager Krissie Bowman.

Registration Now Open for Annual Booster Golf Classic

Registration is now open for the 8th Annual Booster Golf Classic on Thursday, September 16 at Fircrest Golf Club. Join us for a round of golf and help raise funds for Lion athletic programs through the Bellarmine Boosters. Reservations are first-come, first-served and we're expecting a sell-out.

Encounter Parent Volunteers Needed for Fall

Please consider being an adult retreatant on one of our Junior Encounters next year. This influential retreat has been a Bellarmine tradition for over 25 years and we could not do it without your help. For more information on how to get involved, please email Matthew Zahler at zahlerm@bellarmineprep.org.
