Registration and information is now available for Bellarmine's Summer School 2013. Class sizes are limited and registrations are accepted in order of date received.

Summer School Schedule

Summer school classes will meet Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays to accommodate the blended instruction format. Students are expected to complete their Wednesday home-study per teacher's instruction.

Summer School Classes

The following classes will be offered in Bellarmine's Summer School 2013:

For All Students

ENGLISH

English I/II Credit Retrieval (current students only)
(8:00am-1:00pm)

This five-hour course is for current Bellarmine students who did not pass a semester of either English I or English II. This credit retrieval course provides groundwork in composition and literature. (.5 credit)

English Review for English I
(8:00am-10:00am or 10:15am-12:15pm)

Designed for students who need and would benefit from a review of grammar, composition, reading comprehension, and the basic rules of English, prior to enrollment in College Prep English I. Placement for the 2013-2014 school year is dependent upon the teacher recommendation and summer school performance. (.25 credit)

For Incoming Freshmen

English Review for English I (Required for New Start Students)
(8:00am-10:00am)

AND

New Start Tutorial
(10:15am-11:15am)

In addition to English Review for English I (.25 credit), New Start Tutorial is a required course for students enrolled in Bellarmine’s New Start program. This additional one-hour course covers organizational, study skills, note-taking and test-taking strategies, as well as teaching skills to help students “survive” in high school. Students are pre-selected for this course and attendance is mandatory. (No credit)

MATH

Algebra Review (Entering Freshmen)
(8:00am-10:00am)

This class is designed to assist students who will be taking Geometry in the fall semester and is open to entering 9th grade students who wish a review before taking Geometry or Advanced Algebra. Topics include: linear equations, rational expressions, the real number system, exponents, quadratic equations, and the quadratic formula. Placement for the 2013-2014 school year is dependent upon the teacher recommendation and summer school performance. (.25 credit)
