Student Services

Student Services at Bellarmine include the Counseling Department, the Diversity Office and the Learning Specialist. These offices collaborate to support students who may need assistance for academic success or help with personal issues. Click on the links above for more information about these services.

Additional academic support is provided by:

The Advisor

The advisor is the primary contact for each student at Bellarmine. They meet with the student every other day in Community Period and stay with the student through all four years of their education at BPS. Through CP activities and monitoring of academic progress they should have the best and most up to date knowledge of the student's progress, performance and adapting to the rigors of our program.

Honor Society Tutoring

When students struggle in an academic discipline there are trained peer tutors available from Bellarmine's Honor Society to assist them. If a student's performance falls below an acceptable level such a pairing may be instituted by the counselor even without a student requesting it. More about Honor Society.

Probationary Study

Probationary Study is a required, after school study hall.  When a student falls below a 1.8 GPA for any grading period they will be assigned to Probationary Study. The intent here is that students spend monitored study time and that they have access to their teacher for additional help in a particular subject. Among the offerings available are a math lab and a writing lab staffed by faculty and Honor Society tutors to provide individual assistance.

When issues arise intervention will take place in this order adviser, counselor, learning specialist, Honor Society tutor, Probationary Study with the advisor and counselor remaining involved throughout the process.
