Meet the Head Coach

Head varsity football coach Tom Larsen B '74 has been a Bellarmine algebra and geometry teacher and assistant football coach since 1995.

Larsen served as assistant coach under Mike Baldassin starting in 1996. He was a defensive back coach in 1996 and in 1997 through 2002 was offensive line coach. A coach for over 20 years, Larsen has also been a Bellarmine assistant track coach since 1995, was an assistant girls varsity basketball coach, previously coached freshmen and C team boys basketball, middle school basketball and track, and was an assistant football coach at Gig Harbor High.

Larsen, who graduated from Bellarmine in 1974, played football for Bellarmine and earned all-league and all-state honors for the 1973 season. He went on to play football at WSU from 1974-79 and was a four-year letter award winner and starter at offensive guard for 33 consecutive games.

Larsen graduated from WSU in 1979 with a BA in education and social studies.

In 1979, he was a free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs as well as a participant in the Seattle Challenge Bowl Pac-10 All Stars vs. Big-10 All Stars.

Coach Larsen and his wife, Mary, who teaches at St. Patrick School, live in Tacoma's north end. They have three children -- Lindsay Claire (B' 00), Luke (B '02) and Mark (B' 05).
