Meet the Head Coach

Coach Matt Ellis began his teaching career in Bellarmine's history department in the fall of 1997. He is a 1989 graduate of Seattle's Blanchet High School where he participated in track and cross country, Matt continued competitive running during college at the University of Puget Sound where he earned All-American honors in 1994. He took over as the Bellarmine varsity girls head coach in 1998 and has taken the Lions to the state meet every year since then.

In the spring, Matt coaches the Lion's track and field distance runners and in his spare time, he still runs competitively. In fact, he won the 2002 Napa Valley Marathon.
