Meet the Head Coach
Coach Rick Barnhart begins his 24th season as the head coach of Bellarmine's varsity baseball team this spring. He started coaching baseball at Bellarmine in 1985 as jv coach and became varsity coach in 1986. A three-sport star at Highline High School in Burien (football, basketball, baseball), "Barney" concentrated on baseball in college as a pitcher for both Green River Community College and the University of Puget Sound. He ended his collegiate career with a 41-2 cumulative win-loss record before spending two years pitching for the Cleveland Indians organization.
Coach Barnhart is a member of Bellarmine's science faculty and works with our gifted scientists in our marine chemistry program. He is married and has one daughter.
