Meet the Head Coach

Lita Smith
took over as head coach of the Bellarmine girls tennis program in 2008. She was assistant coach for the Lions from 2004-2007. Her coaching experience includes three years as junior varsity tennis coach and five years as varsity tennis coach for Blanchet High, two years as assistant swim coach, and one year as assistant coach for Shorecrest High School.

Lita graduated from Seattle University in 1991 with a bacheclor's degree in general science. In college she played tennis and was captain of the team for three years. She also played college basketball at SU her freshman year. She graduated from Blanchet in 1987 where she played tennis, basketball and volleyball. She then taught health, PE and biology at Blanchet for four years.

Lita is married to Math Smith and they have three young children -- Mia, Maggie and Matteo.

The Lady Lions have an enviable record. They have won 27 Narrows League titles since 1982, 12 West Central District championships, and 6 state championships.
