Please read this important message from Principal Davis.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Bellarmine is a Catholic School in the Jesuit tradition. We are one of 847 Jesuit schools in the world. Jesuit Schools around the world are working together more than ever before - it is truly amazing! One of many things that bring us together is our collective work on the Universal Apostolic Preferences, commonly referred to as the UAP’s. Our Father General of the Society of Jesus shared the following, “What we have sought to do is to find the best ways among many to work together in God’s mission, and contribute what we have and who we are to serving the Church. It is our desire to serve God and promote the common good, better and more effectively.” In an effort to share with our students the UAP’s we developed the Justice Summit. Last week we engaged our students in our third annual Justice Summit and we focused on, “Care of Our Common Home,” which is one of the universal apostolic preferences. The Sustainability Committee, consisting of students and employees, led us in creating this impactful week. A special thank you to Mary Rink and Bridget Nuno for their vision and behind the scenes work and attention to detail.
Presidential Search
Any announcement regarding the presidential search will come from our Board of Directors.
Thank you all for your participation in this important process.
Student/Community Safety
An Emergency Management Team has been developed and we are meeting regularly to review any safety concerns as well as identify future potential risks.
Nerf Wars has been an activity many students (seniors) have participated in throughout the region. Bellarmine DOES NOT endorse or support Nerf Wars.
Seniors and Senior Parents, join us on Memorial Field at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 12th to help us celebrate the senior class and their college decision! The evening includes college recognition and treats. Bellarmine will photograph students with their college gear and college groupings. We ask that students wear gear representing the college they will be attending. Click here to register.

Look Ahead
Monday, May 22 we will celebrate our students at the Awards Assembly. It will be held in the Booster Gym from approximately 10:05 - 11:10. Parking will be a challenge so we encourage carpooling. We will provide additional updates in our May 15 newsletter.
Thursday, May 18 we will celebrate our seniors who will perform in the “Farewell to Seniors Band Concert.”
Please take some time to review the calendar and note start and end of school dates as well as student vacation dates.
Please also note important all school community events including inservice dates.
Co-Curricular Program Updates
Robotics
Bellarmine’s robotics team, Team 360, "The Revolution," attended the FIRST Robotics Competition World Championship in Houston, TX, April 18 - 23. They were one of 619 teams from around the world to compete at the event and played in the Milstein Division. “The Revolution” ranked in the top 10% worldwide, which is an incredible achievement. They took 24 of their 52 student members to the championship. Since the game’s release in January, they have worked extremely hard to get to the World Championship. It was exciting to see them represent our school and community at this prestigious event.
Model UN
The Future of Diplomacy - Middle School Students were invited to attend Bellarmun this past weekend and it was a success! Thank you Bellarmine Model UN leaders for your fantastic leadership.
Important Dates
May 1: First Day of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month
The following prayer comes from the Catholic Health Association:
Loving God, we praise you for your endless creativity made manifest in the diversity of all people. Each tribe, ethnicity, and culture are an expression of your expansive grace that covers all of us. We especially praise you for the goodness and wisdom of the peoples of Asia and the Pacific Islands. For the name and story of each person who claims this heritage, we praise your love. For the art, music, innovations, food, and culture they share with the world, we praise your goodness. For the security and peace of their homes, businesses, and places of worship, we ask your protection. Keep all descendants of Asia and the Pacific Islands in your care, hold them in your love, and make us fierce advocates and allies for welcome, inclusion, and the common good. Amen.
