Please read this important letter Principal Davis.
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The month of February is a busy month. Our admissions team has been hard at work preparing to welcome the class of 2027. Our co-curricular programs continue to engage our students by providing access to conferences, competitions, and leadership opportunities. As we move forward in our school year we anticipate our spring activities and all they bring to our community. Late winter/early spring means we are deep in our preparation for next year and this includes the class selection process for our current students.
Today’s letter will highlight important information for you to consider. Additionally, the letter identifies important dates.
The following are a few updates:
2023-24 Course Selection Process
Teachers of core academic classes will be meeting with their current students in the coming week to make recommendations for next year.
Advisor will be meeting with advisees on either March 6th or March 10th, both early dismissal days, to complete the course selection process for 2023-2024.
Families are encouraged to review the Academic Resource & Course Selection process on myBellarmine in preparation for the course selection process.
Additional information is available in the Resource section of your myBellarmine account.
Campus Ministry Update
The retreat season is in full swing as we recently concluded the Ignite Freshman Retreat and the second women’s junior Encounter. This weekend, the last men’s Encounter will be taking off and the following weekend we will host our last junior women’s Encounter. These retreats are made possible by the generosity of our entire community. Thank you for your support! If you are interested in volunteering for a retreat as an adult, we will soon take sign ups for next year’s retreats. Stay tuned.
The all school Ash Wednesday Mass is on February 22. This kicks off the holy season of Lent. During Lent the entire community will be invited to participate in reconciliation services through their theology class. We will also host stations of the cross as we near Holy Week. Rice bowls are being distributed through Formation classes. Rice Bowls is a program of Catholic Relief Services that helps guide families through Lent through global solidarity.
The last senior class retreat, Magis, will begin registration soon. Open to all seniors, this four day retreat will explore the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius and be one of the last moments for the entire senior class to gather in faith, fun, and fellowship.
Co-Curricular Program Updates
Drama
Bellarmine Drama Program is working diligently on the spring musical, Lucky Stiff, which runs March 16-19, and 23-26. More than 60 students have been working since December to design, build, and paint sets; create lighting and sound cues; create costumes and a costuming plan; gathering and building a plethora of props; rehearsing the orchestral foundation of the piece; creating and teaching choreography; learning lines and blocking; and more. We are fortunate to have a team of adults to provide support for all of these students as they explore the various elements that go into creating a live theatrical production.
Tickets will be on sale at the end of the month. Information will be posted on the Bellarmine website.
The Bellarmine Model United Nations program has been having a busy month! The Vancouver Model United Nations conference, in the beginning of February saw Bellarmine MUN’ers win an astounding 5 Best Delegate Awards, bringing home 10 in total with the largest delegation they had ever brought to an away conference. Next up for Bellarmine MUN is the Seattle Model United Nations conference, taking place this weekend at Seattle University. The Bellarmine Lions are bringing 30 delegates, with other Bellarmine MUN members serving as staff and Secretariat!
BellarMUN conference for middle schoolers has opened their registration! For more information or to register a middle school student for this April conference, please visit https://bellarmun.org.

As you know, Bellarmine has been working on our safety and security plan. Our Emergency Management Team is meeting once per month and is engaging in FEMA training. It is a high priority for our institution to provide a safe and secure environment for our students, employees and our families.
We encourage our community to examine home safety as well. Please take a look at the document here (thank you Charlie Rousseau for providing this resource):
Our school will be celebrating Ash Wednesday Mass on February 22 during the Formation period, 10:00 a.m. This is an important day for Catholics worldwide as it marks the beginning of the Lenten season, a time of reflection, repentance, and spiritual renewal. As a Catholic school, we take this opportunity to come together as a community to reflect on our faith, and to receive ashes as a symbol of our commitment to follow Christ during this holy season. The mass is intended to be a meaningful experience for all of us, and all are welcome to receive the ashes. Please feel free to join us in the Booster gym if you are able.
