A Message from Interim President Cindy Davis

Transition takes place in our students' lives throughout their time at Bellarmine. As they return this January from their Christmas vacation, they are preparing to move into the second semester of the current school year. In a few months, our seniors will be moving on to college and the freshmen will be excited about beginning their second year here. Change fills their lives at this age.

Our entire school community also experienced a major change over the Christmas holidays.  Over the summer, Rob Modarelli announced his intent to resign his position as Bellarmine's president effective December 31.   Bellarmine’s Board of Directors asked me to serve as the interim president while they search for a permanent replacement and I accepted the position.  In addition to the interim president role, I will remain as principal of Bellarmine. This dual role is made possible because of our outstanding and experienced administrative team and faculty, and supportive school-wide community.  The Board hired a consulting firm to assist with the search and the goal is to hire a permanent president by July 1, 2023.  Once this process is complete, I will return to serving as principal and support the transition of the president.

During my 39-year-career at Bellarmine I have met the most incredible people and it has been an honor to know each person, whether a student, parent, colleague, alum or benefactor.  If you are reading this letter, that means you are checking out our newly updated website. Thank you for keeping in touch!

For you alumni, please know that your contributions helped shape Bellarmine into the educational community we are today.  Whether I knew you as a student, an athlete, or leader in ASB, my memories of you remind me why I remain committed to Bellarmine's mission.

Throughout my career, our parents have been important partners in our mission.  Your dedication to providing your children an Ignatian based educational experience continues to inspire me to ensure we develop the whole student by offering exceptional experiences in our academic, campus ministry and co-curricular programs.  Our partnership with you is dependent on our communication.  Parents, you are strongly encouraged to use myBellarmine (Blackbaud), our school communication system, to ensure your children are supported in achieving their goals.

We also encourage prospective families, parents of our alumni, and our benefactors to visit our website to gain insight into the programs that animate our mission.  Although there have been countless transitions through the years and many changes to our physical campus and programs since our doors first opened in 1928, we remain grounded in the rich tradition of Catholic-Jesuit education.  We continue to serve approximately 900 young men and women from diverse backgrounds and they are more engaged than ever in our programs that prepare them to lead and serve in our world.
