Meet Coach Meines

Caroline Meines - Volleyball Head Coach

Caroline Meines is the Head Varsity Volleyball Coach at Bellarmine Preparatory School and brings more than 28 years of coaching experience to the program. She has served Bellarmine athletics for 23 years, first as an assistant varsity volleyball coach from 2003–2014, and as head varsity coach since 2015. In addition to volleyball, Coach Meines has served as an assistant tennis coach at Bellarmine since 2016.

Coach Meines earned her degree from Central Washington University and has coached at several schools throughout her career, including Monroe High School and Federal Way High School, where she served as head varsity volleyball coach and head varsity tennis coach. Her teams have consistently competed at the highest levels of the sport.

Under Coach Meines’ leadership, the Bellarmine Volleyball program has made multiple state tournament appearances, including 2024, 2023, 2016 (3rd place), and 2015 (6th place). As an assistant coach, she contributed to three state championships (2012–2014) and numerous additional state appearances. Several former players have gone on to compete at the collegiate level, with others playing professionally in Major League Volleyball, reflecting the long-term development fostered within the program.

At the core of Coach Meines’ philosophy is a commitment to devotion, perseverance, and honesty, values that shape both the culture and daily practices of Bellarmine Volleyball. She believes belonging is foundational to success and emphasizes effort, integrity, and growth as essential elements of team excellence. While the program pursues success at the state championship level, it remains deeply process-driven, focused on learning, resilience, joy, and personal development.

Coach Meines values coaching at Bellarmine because of the energy and competitive spirit student-athletes bring to the gym, as well as the shared commitment among coaches to walk alongside students with courage, preparation, and care. She strives to create an environment that is challenging, worthwhile, and life-giving for every athlete, regardless of role or years in the program.

Beyond wins and losses, Coach Meines hopes players leave with gratitude for their teammates, coaches, and shared pursuit of excellence, and with a lasting connection to the program’s legacy. She emphasizes that Bellarmine Volleyball is a lifelong community, welcoming alumni back through camps and open gyms, and living out the belief that once a Lion, always a Lion.

Coach Meines played volleyball at Bishop Blanchet High School, where she was a state champion, and continued her playing career collegiately at Central Washington University, Lewis & Clark College, and Highline College. She and her husband, Tim, are the proud parents of Annie B’19 and Mary B’21. Outside the gym, she enjoys competing in local pickleball tournaments and staying active with family and friends.
