Inaugural Revy Regatta Makes Waves on Lake Tapps
On Saturday, September 12, Bellarmine Robotics, FIRST Robotics Competition Team 360, The Revolution, hosted the inaugural Revy Regatta on beautiful Lake Tapps, bringing together students, mentors, alumni, sponsors, administrators, families and friends for a fun and entertaining day of competition, creativity, and community.
Under sunny skies, five student-led teams put their engineering and teamwork to the test, designing and building boats made primarily from cardboard and duct tape. Each boat was crewed by four students and competed in three race heats, giving teams plenty of opportunities to demonstrate speed, durability, creative engineering, and, in some cases, their ability to stay afloat.
After a full day of racing, Boat 2, “The Seekers,” captured the inaugural Revy Regatta Cup, becoming the first team to have its name associated with the championship. But the Regatta was about much more than crossing the finish line. Awards recognized fundraising, creativity, engineering, team spirit, and some of the most memorable moments on the water.

The inaugural Revy Regatta was created as both a fundraiser for FRC Team 360, The Revolution, and a community-building experience for the Bellarmine Prep Robotics program. The event challenged students to take the skills they develop in the robotics lab—design, fabrication, problem-solving, project management, fundraising, marketing, and teamwork—and apply them in an entirely different environment.
Most importantly, the Regatta would not have been possible without the incredible support of our sponsors, families, mentors, volunteers, alumni, and the entire Bellarmine community. A special thank-you goes to the Leier family for opening their Lake Tapps property and helping us launch this new Team 360 tradition. We are also incredibly grateful to Dr. Goodsell and Bellarmine’s Advancement and Events teams for their support, coordination and work behind the scenes to help bring the inaugural Revy Regatta to life. Five boats. Four students in each boat. Three heats each. One champion. And one unforgettable first Revy Regatta.
