Bellarmine is excited to begin the process for our fall play: Peter and the Starcatcher, a play by Rick Elice. Click read more for more for information regarding participation as a crew member or for auditions.
Please see below for information regarding participation as a crew member or for auditions.
Bellarmine Drama is a welcoming and inclusive community that has room for everyone; not all of those
places are on the stage as a performer.
Actors and crew members working performances must commit to the following times for
mandatory rehearsals and performances.
While rehearsals and crew opportunities are throughout the fall, the dates below cannot be missed by those
acting in the play or participating in crew during performances. If you are unable to attend these rehearsals
and performances, please speak with Brien O’Loughlin (Director) or Melissa Minjares (Producer) about
other ways to be involved with Bellarmine drama in the fall.
Required rehearsals and performance dates:
After school 3-7 p.m. October 31st - November 4th
Evenings of November7th - November 12th
Late morning through early evening of Sunday, November 13th
Audition Day 1: Tuesday, September 6th, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Audition Day 2: Wednesday, September 7th, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Callbacks: Thursday, September 8th, 3:00-5:30 p.m.
REQUIRED Cast Meeting: Friday, September 9th, 3:00-4:00 p.m.
To audition, please sign up for a timeslot on one of the first two days using this google sheet
. You must have
a Bellarmine email address to add your name to the list. If you do not have a Bellarmine email yet, contact
Brien O’Loughlin at email@example.com
with the date you would prefer to audition and he will let you know what time slot you have been signed up for. All students auditioning are required to attend a 15 minute meeting at 3:00 pm on the day they are auditioning.
Auditions and callbacks will take place in the theater.
Callbacks will be posted on the audition sign up sheet at the back of the house of the theater (glass doors)
after lunch on Thursday. If you are called back, please be available for the entire time. The final cast will be
posted in the same way on Friday.
There will be a meeting for cast members after school on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
Two Options for Auditions:
● Option 1: Prepare a 1-2 minute monologue from a contemporary play. Comedic monologues are
preferred, but comedic or dramatic are both acceptable. See “tips for improving your monologue
for some helpful hints as you prepare for your audition.
● Option 2: We will provide students with audition sides (a copy of a brief monologue) during the 15
minute meeting at the start of auditions each day. Sides do not need to be memorized.
HOWEVER, please note that a well-rehearsed and memorized monologue (option 1 above) almost always
shows off an actor’s skillset better than a side.
CREW/TECHNICAL THEATER Opportunities
For students interested in crew, all crew members are asked to attend the first week of rehearsals
from September 12th-16th from 3-4:45 p.m. Location will be posted on the Drama Program
bulletin board across from B07. The first week will be table work (reading and analyzing the script)
for all crew (costumes, props, lights, set, audio, production) and cast.
All interested in participating in the fall play are asked to come to these rehearsals.
WE LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING YOU AT AUDITIONS!
