Dress Code

Students are expected to dress in a manner that reflects respect for themselves, others, and the learning environment. Unless otherwise specified, the following guidelines apply during the school day.
  • Clothing must be neat, clean, and intact.
    • Ripped or torn clothing is not permitted, even if commercially manufactured.

  • Clothing must cover the chest, midsection, back, and undergarments always, even when moving, stretching, or raising arms.
  • Shirts/tops: No spaghetti straps, off-the-shoulder tops, strapless shirts, or garments with excessively large arm holes.

  • Pants/Shorts:
    • Standard denim, corduroys, dress slacks, khakis, and cargo pants are permitted.
    • Shorts must extend to arms length.
    • Pants and shorts may not sag below the waist, have holes or rips, or be see-through.
    • Sweatpants, joggers, pajama pants, and athletic shorts are not permitted outside of PE classes or casual days.
  • Outer Garments:
    • Shirts visible under jackets, sweaters, fleeces, or sweatshirts must comply fully with dress code standards.
  • Footwear:
    • Must be made from sturdy materials such as leather or canvas.
    • Crocs, slides, flip-flops, Yeezy foam shoes, and similar footwear are not permitted.
  • Hats/Accessories:
    • Hats, hoods, visors, sweatbands, and bandanas are not permitted indoors
    • Dog-collar style jewelry, studded wristbands, belts with chains or ropes, wallet chains, and similar accessories are prohibited.
    • Sunglasses may not be worn inside school buildings.
    • Exceptions to headwear and accessories may be granted by administration for religious, cultural, or medical reasons.
  • Logos, Images, and Language:
    • Clothing may not display images or language that promotes drugs, alcohol, violence, profanity or political endorsements.
  • Clothing Fit and Function:
    • Any clothing item that requires continuous adjustment to maintain appropriate coverage is not considered dress code compliant.
