After four decades of service to Bellarmine, I write today with a full heart to share that I will be retiring at the end of the 2025-26 school year. This has not been an easy decision, as Bellarmine has been my home, my vocation and my joy for much of my life.
From the moment I first arrived at Bellarmine, I was inspired by its mission as a Catholic, Jesuit, college preparatory school—to educate and form young men and women for lives of faith, leadership and service. Over the years, I have witnessed this mission come alive in classrooms with curiosity, on playing fields marked by resilience and teamwork, on retreats where faith deepens, and in countless moments of growth and transformation. To accompany our students on this journey has been a profound privilege of a lifetime, as I have watched them recognize their gifts, cultivate their intellects, and emerge as people of competence, compassion and conscience—ready to embrace the world with courage and hope.
As Jesuit education reminds us, our work is never only about academics, but about forming the whole person. Bellarmine graduates go on to make a difference in the world because they have been challenged to think critically, act justly and serve generously. To have played even a small role in that formation fills me with gratitude and trust in the grace that lies ahead.
I am deeply thankful to my colleagues, past and present, whose dedication to excellence has been steadfast; to our parents and families, for entrusting us with your children; and to our alumni, who carry forward the spirit of Bellarmine into every walk of life. Most of all, I am grateful to our students—you are the reason this community is so vibrant, faith-filled and full of promise, you are the reason we drive up the hill every day.
As I look toward retirement, I do so with profound faith in the future of Bellarmine. Our school’s foundation is strong, rooted in Jesuit values and in a mission that has guided us faithfully for nearly a century. I am confident that Bellarmine will continue to form leaders who are prepared not only for college, but for life—leaders who will serve with integrity, courage and love.
Thank you for allowing me the honor of serving this remarkable community. Bellarmine will forever remain in my prayers and in my heart.
