Big Wins for Bellarmine at the Jazz Unlimited Festival
On April 17 and 18 the Bellarmine Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band 1 traveled to Columbia Basin College in Pasco Washington and came home with incredible honors.
Jazz Band 1 took first place in their division with Luke Zeigler B’26, Christoph Ivanov B’27, Matthew Whitehead Jr. B’26, and Stephen Lo B’28 earning recognition as the festival’s Outstanding Trombone Section.
Outstanding soloist honors went to Xavier Colón B’28, Luke Zeigler B’26, and Isaac Amann B’27, with Xavier also named runner up for All Festival Soloist.
The Wind Ensemble also earned top marks in their division and together both groups secured the Don Paul Award for Outstanding Music Department, given to the highest scoring school at the festival.
