The Bellarmine Lions Wrestling Program would like to invite you to support our program.
The mission of our program is to develop not only great wrestlers, but great people who demonstrate outstanding character. Our program measures its success not in wins and losses, but in our wrestlers’ abilities to be productive students, models of Christ, and successful contributing citizens after high school. We believe there is more to life than athletics and our philosophy focuses on teaching and improving sound work ethic, skills, and character.
Since 2018 the Bellarmine Lions Wrestling Program has been led by head coach Sparky Ainslie. During this time, he has led a coaching staff focused on developing athletes to reach their highest potential both on and off the mat. The team has experienced continual growth. During this coaching staff’s tenure the team has sent 5 representatives to the Washington State 4A Mat Classic Tournament. Three earned medals (two 3rd place and 8th place), including Jackson Hallet, who placed 3rd last season.
As a donor you will help the program accomplish its mission by providing resources that will be used to enhance the experience of our wrestlers. The donations will be used to fund:
• new mats for the practice room
• off season camps and wrestling activities
• access and scholarships to student athletes
Currently the team is practicing on outdated, expired mats, reconditioned over 15 years ago. New mats will provide a more functional space for our athletes to train, as well as a more modern facility to align with our college-preparatory mission.
Most of our athletes have never wrestled before and therefore are starting far behind their competition that has benefited from the opportunity to wrestle in middle school. This fact makes offseason wrestling more important than ever. Your donations will give us the ability to offer our athletes access to offseason wrestling that will be critical to their success.
Your generosity will not go unnoticed. If you decide to support our program with a donation of $500 or more, you will be recognized in the Take-Down Times (the Bellarmine Wrestling newsletter), and during our Senior Night home wrestling match.
